Busia Senator Amos Wako wants Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) to consider endorsing Bungoma senator, Moses Wetangula as its 2017 presidential flag bearer.

The senator said that Wetangula can be the right candidate to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017.

The senator who spoke during the burial of Busia County Public Service Board chairperson, Agneta Akhaabi in Nambale on Saturday said that he has known Wetangula for a long time and that he has the qualities of a president.

Wako who is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) said that he knew Wetangula in 1990’s and that he even proposed his name to Parliament.

“Wetangula has the right qualities and I think he can easily unseat President Uhuru if supported,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Busia senator called on Luhya leaders to unite and endorse a candidate that will bring change to the region.

He also asked Amani National Congress (ANC) leader, Musalia Mudavadi to partner with Cord leader, Raila Odinga ahead of 2017.

He said that President Uhuru Kenyatta will be send packing in 2017 if Western leaders unite and work together.
