Luhya leaders who are aspiring to be presidents have been called upon by the former Bumula MP, Bifwoli Wakoli to unite.
According to Wakoli, the leaders need to unite and support only one candidate who will help them attain the presidency.
‘‘We know how much you leaders want to be presidents but sometimes you should learn to put your interests last to save the community. If you unite and say you are going to back only one of you, I am sure all the Luhya community will support the person you have chosen. This will be easy for the community to vote for the person,’’ said Wakoli.
Wakoli, who once eyed the presidential seat, cautioned the Luhya leaders of the results of not uniting saying it will lead to their defeat.
‘‘If you are not united, it will be very hard for you to win the presidential seat. If every leader will be jealous of the other and you want to rival one another this will only lead to a divided community, therefore, no accumulation of votes. You risk failing terribly,’’ he added.
He called on Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang’ula and Wycliffe Oparanya to sit down and decide who will be the presidential candidate.
He spoke on this matter during a radio interview.
