Goni, who is using Public Service Vehicles during his campaigns, has promised to give the incumbent Senator Yusuf Haji a run for his money ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The ‘Walking Senator’ as he has been described by many has promised to provide better leadership if given the mandate to take over Haji, who is defending his post.

In an exclusive interview with a local daily, Goni said that he is doing well as far as his campaigns are concerned, adding that he has no doubt that the people will elect him.

“I only use it to campaign within Garissa town, while I use public means to travel to other subcounties to popularise my bid,” he said.

He also said that he has enough experience in leadership, adding that he is the right bet for the people of this region.

“As a teacher who has worked in different schools in the county, I have interacted with so many people and known their problems. I am confident that I will be elected the next senator,” he added.

The other aspirants are Narc-Kenya’s Idriss Abdikadir, Yussuf Isse Abdi of Wiper,  former Fafi MP Aden Sugow of ODM, Mohamed Karur of Kanu and  Ahmednoor Salah of Thirdway Alliance.
