Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke has downplayed the recent discharge from the parliamentary committee by the party that sponsored him to parliament.
In a statement to the Star newspaper, Waluke said the discharge would do little to impede his re-election in the forthcoming 2017 elections.
He said the party had no right to influence the behaviour of voters in any way and that he was sure of retaining his seat in the 2017 elections.
"I want to make it clear that ODM did not bring me parliament in 2013. I was elected by the people of Sirisia and I am sure they will re-elect me in the forthcoming 2017 elections," Waluke said.
The Sirisia legislator was the in the National Security and Delegated Legislation Committee and he joins a host of other ODM rebels that were discharged from the parliamentary committees.
The others are Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba, Karachuonyo MP James Rege, Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi, Mathare MP Steven Kariuki, Imenti Central MP Kubai Iringo, and nominated MP Isaac Mwaura.
