Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, appeared before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives, Tuesday.

This is after the Committee summoned him for an update on the Status of the implementation of Sh2 billion Water Harvesting Programs.He was flanked by his Principal Secretaries, Zeinab Hussein (Irrigation Department) and Fred Segor, (National Water Services) respectively.This was in view of the ongoing rains being experienced in some sections of the country, after a prolonged drought that ravaged several counties, leading to death of livestock and residents.

The Committee also sought to know the status of the implementation of the Sh10 billion Galana-Kulalu flagship irrigation project, and an audit of its continuous viability in light of the myriad of challenges that have faced the project
