The Devolution Ministry will soon gazette dispute resolution guidelines which will help county governments in sorting out disputes.
Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa said that resolution of disputes among counties was taking much time which he said is affecting project implementation.
He said the ministry is working with the Senate to develop alternative dispute resolution regulations and he will be gazetting them shortly.
Wamalwa said long court battles between county governments and the national government was only enriching lawyers and not benefiting devolution.
“With these long court battles, we are just enriching lawyers and these court battles are not helping county governments in any way,” Wamalwa said.
“We need to adopt alternative dispute resolution mechanisms because this will save us time and money wasted in court battles,” he added
