Bumula MP Boniface Otsiula and Kimilili Ward MCA David Barasa said Nairobi needs a servant like Wamalwa.

"We are fully supporting Water CS Eugene Wamalwa. He is ripe to lead us in Nairobi, he can play a crucial role in attracting investors and ensure that development is realised," Otsiula said.

The leaders backed Wamalwa’s bid saying that he has a right to contest for the post just like any other Kenyan while at the same time accusing rivals of employing old tactics derail Wamalwa's quest for the capital's top seat.

"We watched with awe as goons disrupted a meeting. We want our competitors to stop this barbaric behavior. They do not own Nairobi. The city belongs to all of us and everybody is free to campaign and sell his agendas," noted Barasa.

Over the weekend, a political rally in Dandora Stadium that had been convened by Water cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa turned chaotic after rowdy youthful stormed the venue, forcing attendees to flee for safety.

Barasa noted that it was primitive to unleash goons to cause violence yet Wamalwa and others leaders were just selling their manifestos.
