Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi has told NASA leader Raila Odinga that all he has built in his political career will be destroyed by individuals close to him for personal gains.

The senator, who was speaking on Tuesday morning during a morning show said Odinga had his name in the history of the country for his selfless efforts to fight for democracy, but he risks losing all that.

“I will ask Raila one thing, what will he do so that these guys stop making him look so cheap, because this guy has invested his life in his political career, but at the tail end of it, it has been made so cheap by people who want to cash it in for some personal gains,” he said.

He urged him to retire from politics peacefully and with dignity, as that is the only way Kenyans will forever remember his legacy.

He added: “I am not a Raila supporter, but I am a Kenyan who knows the guy (Odinga) has had his politics, his time, and wants to leave the political arena but he wants to leave with his head held high to go and retire. But if he allows his legacy be usurped by individuals who want to gain politically,”

The NASA coalition is planning to swear in Raila Odinga on January 31 at the Uhuru Park grounds, after insisting that they do not recognize Kenyatta’s presidency.
