Speaking in Limuru on Sunday during a church fundraiser, Wamatangi said that devolving the Attorney General's (AG) office to all the 47 counties will ensure quick service delivery to the citizens seeking the AG's services.

He said that residents are forced to travel all the way to Nairobi to access such services.

The senator said that devolving the office will also help priests in hastening the process of marriage formalisation.

“We realise that priests have become very involved people in matters of nation building. We cannot therefore have them going all the way to Nairobi to wait for days when seeking the services of the AG. That is why I will push to have the AG's office come to the people,” said Wamatangi.

Wamatangi also said that the bill will also include a clause that will see theology certificates recognised when their bearers are searching for jobs in both the private and public sector.

“This country also needs religious knowledge and we can't underscore that. Religious leaders are an integral part of our society,” said Wamatangi.
