Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi has called for continued security surveillance in the county and across the country to ensure safety.

The senator said that continued security will give confidence to investors to start and continue investing the country.

Speaking at Ruiru town on Tuesday, Wamatangi said that the county administration needs to work around the clock and ensure safety of the residents.

Wamatangi also called on security officers to work with wananchi in their quest to maintain law and order.

“The county government should come up with more ways that will promote safety of the residents plus their property,” said Wamatangi.

The senatoradded that security is critical and that it is the responsibility of every government, leaders and every citizen to ensure that safety of people are put in place.

Speaking about the ongoing teachers’ strike which has paralysed learning in public schools, senator Wamatangi has urged teachers’ union officials to call off the strike that entered its second day on Tuesday and continue engaging in dialogue with the government.

“Much is being lost in terms of learning and students are the ones who are suffering the consequences of the teachers’ strike,” added Wamatangi.

He urged teachers and the government to hold talks that will end the strike that has affected learning in public schools across the country.

The senator said that the government must come with long lasting solutions that will prevent strikes in future.
