Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has called for speedy investigations and prosecution of culprits involved in the murder of human rights lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and driver.

Wamatangi on Tuesday said that legal action must be taken against the killers of the three young Kenyans.

“The police should do thorough investigations and make sure that the culprits implicated in the murder are dealt with accordingly,” he said on phone.

The Kiambu senator said that the mysterious killing of the lawyer and two other people had shocked the world.

“Justice for the three Kenyans should b expedited and appropriate action taken so that we can tame similar cases,”  said Wamatangi.

The Kiambu senator urged the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery to guarantee security of Kenyans.

He said that it is worrying on how innocent lives can be terminated mysteriously.

Lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and driver’s bodies were found at Ol Donyo Sabuk River on Friday last week, one week after they went missing.

Their killing has attracted a globe condemnation with human right groups calling for a thorough probe.

On Monday human rights activists in Nairobi held demonstrations over the killing’s and called for the resignation of Boinnet and Nkaissery.

Three police officers linked to the killings were arraigned in court on Monday and detained for fourteen days pending completion of investigations. This comes as Director of criminal Investigation Director Ndegwa Muhoro on Tuesday said that they are involving the FBI in the investigations.
