Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has called on Independent candidates in Jubilee Party strongholds to stop intimidating President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to Wamatangi,it is unfortunate that some candidates are trying to coerce the President to endorse them.

He said such a move is unacceptable and rude.

Addressing his supporters at Banana Hill in Kiambaa constituency On Tuesday, Wamatangi said that  Independents have the right to campaign for the re-election of Uhuruto, but should do so genuinely.

He said it is illogical for the Independents to refer to themselves as the Third Force noting that their motive is “very suspicious”.

The senator, who will face Ngewa MCA Karungo Thang’wa and former Limuru MP George Nyanja, said though Independent candidates are recognized by the Constitution, they should not abuse the same candidates they purport to support.
