Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has called on leaders to avoid glorifying and politicising terror attacks in the country.
Speaking in Kikuyu town, Wamatangi said it was inappropriate to dwell on the terror attacks as it will only be glorifying the inhumane acts perpetrated by terror group Al Shabaab.
He called on politicians to let the government take the mantle of dealing with the terrorists by doing thorough investigations and apprehending the culprits responsible.
"By continuously mentioning the attacks, we are making the terrorists feel 'worshiped'. Instead, we should help the government deal with the matter as it has the capacity to do so. Politicians should also refrain from making the attacks a political affair because it isn't," said Wamatangi.
This comes after the country witnessed a terror attack in Mandera County on October 25th when a guest house, Bisharo Guest House, was attacked leaving 12 people dead and scores injured.
Wamatangi further called on the people and the clergy to pray for the affected families for them to overcome the tragedy.
