Addressing locals at Kamirithu village in Limuru on Wednesday, Wamatangi said the governor's claims are unfounded and out of context.

“People should not mistake our arguments with governor Kabogo for something else,” he said.

The senator stated that he has nothing personal against the Kiambu governor.

Wamatangi says that he is only doing his oversight role as the county senator.

“As the senator it is my responsibility to oversight on county activities especially usage of public funds and other resources,” he said.

Wamatangi and Kabogo have clashed severally in regards to utilisation of county resources.

Last week the two clashed during a meeting convened by the Senate Public Accounts and Investment Committee where Kabogo had appeared to answer to audit queries relating to the 2013/2014 Financial Year.

The senator accused Kabogo of failing to provide all the financial documents for auditing.

While responding to the committee queries, Kabogo accused Wamatangi of using the committee to fight him politically.

Kabogo asked the senator to use other avenue and not the committee if he wants to fight him politically.

Wamatangi a critic of governor Kabogo has several times accused the county government of failing to account to public resources.
