Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi has condemned youths who interrupted the Senate Finance Committee meeting in Thika town.
Wamatangi said that the youths were paid by a section of leaders to insult him and heckle at the Senate leaders who had gone for the meeting.
The youths were terming the Senator as an ‘SMS leader’ for allegedly sending SMS to Kiambu residents tainting the county government image.
However Wamatangi has refuted and rubbished the allegations of staining the county government.
Speaking in his office on Tuesday morning Wamatangi said a section of Kiambu leaders pivoted and spearheaded the heinous act.
“I send SMS to the people encouraging them to work hard in promoting the county but not messages to incite or taint the reputation of the county,” said Wamatangi.
He has called on area OCPD Francis Muthamia to investigate the issue and the perpetrators to be brought to book for interrupting the meeting.
The senator said a section of leaders are to be blame for what happened on Monday.
He has however cautioned youths not to be misled by politicians who have malicious intentions saying the rule of law will not relent on those who spearhead the move.
