Kabogo claims that Wamatangi has taken county issues to the committee and he is allegedly using the committee to fight him.

Speaking after inspecting ongoing road renovations in Gitothua, Ruiru sub-county on Friday, Kabogo said that he will not allow Wamatangi to embarrass and tarnish his image using the senate committee.

“It is clear that Wamatangi using the senate committee to fight me politically,” he said.

Kabogo asked the senator to fight him in other avenues and not the committee. He said that claims by the senator of him misusing public funds are baseless.

On Thursday, Kabogo and Wamatangi clashed during an audit query meeting.

The two leader’s tag of words at each other almost halted the committee proceedings with Wamatangi reminding Kabogo that he has the mandate of the Kiambu people to question him on usage of public funds and resources.

Kabogo was accused of failing to avail financial documents on time for audit.

The governor was responding to audit queries highlighted by the Auditor General in regards to the 2013/2014 Financial Year.

Kabogo however maintained that his government presented all financial documents for audit to the Auditor General on time.

He also defended his government against claims of misappropriating funds as cited in the Auditor General report.
