Amb Samuel Wamathai, the new Nyeri county governor, has pledged to work with former governor, Nderitu Gachagua's Cabinet.

This is after six County Executive Committee (CeC) members who were working with the late governor, officially took oath of office, alongside County Secretary Alice Wachira, Thursday.

The CeCs include; Erastus Karanja Muriuki (Education and Acting Trade and Investment docket), Lucy Mugure Wanyitu (Youth and Sports and Acting, Roads and Infrastructure), Charles Githua (Health and Acting in Finance docket), Timothy Ngunyangi (Water and Environment), Robert Thuo (Agriculture), and Stanley Miano (Tourism).

They were sworn into office in an event presided over by lawyer Gikonyo Wahome, as advised by the Attorney General, Githu Muigai.

The Cabinet was not vetted afresh, as some MCAs demanded.

Wamathai, however, said he would defend his seat in August 8, elections, through a Jubilee party ticket.
