Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohammed said Friday that the petition being fronted by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has the blessings of President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee leadership even as the latter distanced itself from the move.
"You cannot come up with such a plan without the party's blessings. If anything I met Wambugu at the JKIA Airport waiting for the president who was going to launch some projects in his constituency barely hours after revealing to the country his impeachment motion. It is so clear that he had delivered the president's intention", he told KTN .
Junet who is also the ODM's director of elections further blasted the Jubilee leadership for allegedly acting innocent by disowning Wambugu yet he was doing their bidding.
According to Jubilee secretary general Raphael Tuju, the petition by the first time MP is a private move and does not reflect the party's position.
Among the grounds the Nyeri Town MP has cited in his petition includes claims that the CJ nullified the August 8 presidential petition without evidence and that he was also in constant communication with the petitioner's lawyers.
