National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga is seeking foreign help to assume the presidency, former Othaya MP Mary Wambui has said.
Speaking during a Jubilee campaign rally in Hola Town, Tana River County, Wambui said Raila's recent visit to the United Kingdom was to exert pressure on the international community to mediate the current political stalemate as a strategy to form a coalition government with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"He wants support so that he can frustrate President Kenyatta. He has done this before but we as Jubilee won't allow him," Wambui said.
Speaking at the same rally, former Kipipiri MP Samuel Gichigi said Raila had failed to prove himself worthy leader and wanted to use shortcuts to get power.
"He wants to get power through the back door after sensing defeat. If he has support across the country, as he claims, why is he afraid of facing Uhuru at the ballot?" Gichigi posed.
However, speaking in Mombasa on Sunday, Raila defended his tour to London saying it was a break for him and his family after the tense electioneering period.
He also reiterated that he was not interested in sharing power.
"I am not interested in nusu-mkate. I want to be fully in charge," he said.
