Hospital Ward MCA Mwangi Wamwangi has reiterated his commitment towards supporting education in his ward, by awarding bursary funds to needy bright students.

Speaking on Thursday during the Hemland College graduation ceremony in Thika Town where more than 500 graduands were awarded certificates and diplomas, Wamwangi said there is need to support the learning generation to achieve their dreams.

"I believe the best gift we can give to these youngsters is education. What better way to facilitate their education than paying their school fees in a bid to ensure they achieve their dreams,” said Wamwangi.

The MCA said his office is open to bursary applications starting January next year, adding that the bursaries will be awarded fairly to the deserving applicants.

"There will be no discrimination in the process as applicants will be awarded the bursaries on merit,” he said.

The MCA at the same time appealed to the graduands not to be selective when applying for jobs, and urged them to create their own opportunities.

"I salute all graduand for the hard work you have put in so far. However, you should remember the biggest challenges are out there and how you tackle them is what matters. I urge you to embrace all opportunities that come your way as you wait to get jobs in the fields you have trained for,” said Wamwangi.
