Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi has claimed that Independent candidates in ODM zones do not stand a chance during the August polls.

According to the lawmaker, such lawmakers were sp[oiling chances of Raila Odinga getting maximum votes during the August elections.

"Those who call themselves independent candidates have no space in Nyanza or any ODM stronghold," he is quoted by the Star.

He urged such leaders to save the campaign resources for 2022.

The MP further said such candidates have betrayed ODM and should be punished.

Wandayi said ODM candidates are expected to campaign to sweep all the six positions that will be on the ballot during the elections.
