Gladys Wanga personally approached National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and apologized to her following a feud in parliament last year, claims Laboso.
Wanga, a fierce defender of opposition leader Raila Odinga, poured water on Ms. Laboso during a heated session on controversial amendments to Security Bill in 2016.
But Laboso, who seeks to unseat Isaac Rutto of Bomet County, says the Homa Bay Women Representative met and apologized to her in person.
“She did not intent to offend me in any manner. In parliament, such things often happen as you try to make a point but as Speaker, I have to do my job.
“She personally approached me there after and apologized. It was not personal and I agree with her. In politics, we often encounter that,” added Laboso in a KTN interview on Sunday.
In her bid to run for Bomet Governorship, Laboso urged locals to elect leaders regardless of their marital status or social backgrounds.
“I am married in Kisumu back I can work anywhere in Kenya. I appeal to my people to elect objectively,” said Laboso.
However, the second term MP shall face former Konoin MP Julius Kones in Jubilee Party primaries scheduled in April before August elections.
