Homa Bay Women's Representative Gladys Wanga has condemned the move by the Jubilee government to shut town media TV stations ahead of Raila Odinga swearing in scheduled for any moment from now at Uhuru Park.

Addressing journalists at Uhuru Park, Wanga said that the shut down will not stop them from swearing in Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as the people's president and deputy respectively.

The vocal ODM MP said that the shut down is a clear indication that Jubilee is afraid of Raila and Kalonzo's oath.

"It is shameful for them (government) to infringe on media freedom and they are wrong if they think by shutting down the media TV stations they will be stopping us from administering oath to Raila Odinga,"she said.

Wanga called on NASA supporters to remain calm and peaceful as they await Raila and Kalonzo's arrival for oath taking.

The Communications Authority of Kenya on Tuesday morning shut down CItizen TV, NTV and KTN News for allegedly covering live Raila's swearing in that is under way at Uhuru Park.

The government had earlier warned media stations against airing the swearing in alive a move that was protested by media owners and editos guild.

Raila and Kalonzo are expected to take oath any moment from now infront  of thousands of supporters who have thronged Uhuru Park to witness the coronation.

Security remains tight across the city with police not interfering with NASA activities.
