Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga has said that the opposition will boycott this year's election if the election laws are not amended.
While addressing journalists in Homa Bay on Friday, Wanga said that the Jubilee administration had introduced the manual voting system to favour them in the forthcoming elections.
"The opposition will not engage in this year's election if the manual voting system is upheld. This is because the system is liable to manipulation and we cannot allow this," said Wanga.
The legislator further accused the Jubilee administration of coming up with fake excuses of reintroducing the manual voting system.
According to Wanga, the excuse that the biometric system would lock out disabled people was a way of trying to rig this year's elections.
"The idea by the Jubilee administration that disabled people, mainly in the arms, will not be registered is unfounded and baseless. The biometric voting system will cater for these people in one way or another and this will block 'dead' people from voting," added Wanga.
