Former Harambee Stars striker Allan Wanga is a happy man after he was appointed as the Kakamega County sports director. Wanga who had also played for Tusker FC will be charged with the mandate of managing and developing sports in the region. Wanga expressed his pleasure in the job and pledged to work to his best to ensure sports in the region taken to a higher level. “I am very happy and feel privileged to land this role at the County. It is an honor for me and comes in the line in which I am very passionate about.. ""It has always been my ambition to serve my community and this is a great chance for me,” Wanga was quoted by Capital Sport.The former Harambee Stars ace said he had met with the county Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and accepted to take the offer. “We met with the Governor (Wycliffe Oparanya) sometimes last month where we had these discussions and I could not decline the offer..""Hopefully, I will use my experience and passion to help grow sports in this county,” he stated.Wanga is currently at the University of Nairobi pursuing a Business Management Course and will look to implement some of his expertise in his new role.
