Outspoken Homabay Women Representative Gladys Wanga has been subjected to scathing criticism over her move to defend pay hike to MPs.
Sarah Serem’s SRC had drastically cut allocations to MPs, a move that a section of MPs have vowed to fight when parliament resumes.
And on Raila Think Tank Facebook page, a number of her fans accused her of ‘betrayal’ and vowed to ‘teach’ her a lesson.
“This is betrayal of the century and we are not going to allow it. She has to face the reality that Kenya gives people power to decide destiny,” said Peter Odhiambo.
Agnes Ouko added: “We are losing trust in her and she must now be careful. We cannot be taken for a ride by her greediness. Let the people’s interest come first.”
Already President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned that he will not append signature to any pay hike by MPs should it pass through parliament.
Wanga is one of the popular Raila Odinga supporters and she was reelected with a wider margin in the recently concluded elections.
