Former Kabete politician James Wanjohi has declared his desire to represent the people of Kabete under Jubilee Alliance Party in the upcoming by-election that will be held on May 4 2015.
Wanjohi who stood up against the late George Muchai during the general election in 2014 but he was outmaneuvered said that he is confidence to lead the people of Kabete to the Promised Land where the late Muchai was taking them.
The aspirant who was speaking on Sunday in Nyathuna ACK church in Kabete said that he is willing to work hand in hand with the people of Kabete to show him the way forward towards development.
He said that the death of the former MP George Muchai should not be in vain since during the campaign back in 2013, they had the same manifesto and their ideologies were almost similar thus he will pick from where the deceased left.
Wanjohi accepted that the gap the MP left could not be filled but he assured the residents that he will do what it takes to achieve the dreams set by the former MP who was slain by the gunmen.
“The gap that Muchai left cannot be filled but I presume I will try my best to make things right, it will not be easy, but am confidence to deliver,” said Wanjohi
The aspirants however expressed his happiness with the way the CID are probing the case that led Muchai killed with his bodyguards and displayed his confidence that soon the perpetrators will be brought to books.
The seat fell vacant after Muchai was killed alongside his two bodyguards and driver in Nairobi's CBD on February 7.
Meanwhile, the IEBC has given all the political parties that would wish to fill the gap of the late Muchai until March 19 to table their candidates by holding the preliminaries before the set date.
