Rwandese midfielder Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza's quest to leave Kenya Premier League (KPL) giants Gor Mahia was finally granted after the club handed him a release letter on Tuesday. The move will see him join Rwandan side APR.Mugiraneza had a troubled spell with the Kenyan champions since his arrival from Tanzanian side Azam FC one year ago and warmed the bench for the better part of the 2017 season.Talks to have him extend his stay also hit a dead end.Confirming the developments on Tuesday, Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda revealed that they could not stop the star from leaving since he had set his mind on finding a new club."We could not stand in his way because he wanted a transfer move for more playing time. We have officially released the player and from what I am gathering is that he has signed for APR. We want to wish him well for whatever he did for our club and we also respect his choice," Aduda said. There were hopes that the Rwandese international could break into the first eleven following the arrival of Coach Dylan Kerr who had a short stint with him at Azam, but that was not to be as the Britton had his own plans as proved by his squad selection for the remainder of the 2017 campaign. The arrivals of former Tusker man Humphrey Mieno and Lawrence Juma of Nzoia Sugar are understood to have further edged him out.
