Kenya midfielder Victor Wanyama has revealed the source of inspiration during his long term injury.

According to Wanyama, visiting sick children at the London Hospital during his rehabilitation period played a great role in changing his thinking and mental approach towards his injury.

Wanyama suffered a gruesome knee injury that kept him out of action from August.

-"They gave such a positive vibe. Then I said to myself, 'Victor, your problem is so very small'. In my country, I have been to see young children suffering from cancer. I help them to raise money for treatment. One boy was having his third stage of chemotherapy, " Wanyama is quoted by Daily Mail.

Wanyama said that he was categorically moved by the boy who appreciated his presence. He also played a little football with the little lady.

"Spending that day with him, I could feel his pain. He was so fragile. Watching him go through what he did was so moving yet he appreciated me being there so much. It was a Sunday, we played a little football and went on a few funfair rides. He was so happy and that made me feel amazing. My knee troubled my mind yet I was at peace helping those children," he continued.

Wanyama hopes to achieve full recovery immediately.
