Kisii County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi has said police will not stop war on crime in the region.

Kigochi assured Kisii residents region of their security at all times.

This comes amidst concerns by residents that the rate of crime in the county was increasing. 

“We have enough officers who patrol on daily basis with aim of ensuring that they arrest any criminals. I assure all the residents of this," he said.

The commissioner also took the time to warn elected leaders against inciting the public.

“Action will be taken against politicians inciting their supporters to clash with opponents’ supporters. We shall not allow careless talks in this county," he said.

He also asked youths not to be used by selfish leaders who wanted to gain from them.

“Youths are advised to keep off leaders who are out to incite them to cause chaos,” he said.

His Thursday statement, comes barely days after Jubilee supporters threatened to cause chaos during a NASA rally scheduled for Sunday this week at Gusii stadium.
