Sarang’ombe Ward Representative on Monday had a hard time as his speech was interrupted severally by youth from the ward.
Dancan Asiko could barely speak since youth demanded to know why he did not publicise the public hearing meeting scheduled for the public to participate in budget proposal hearings.
A source who requested for anonymity said he had that the ward officials had planned for the hearing but had not called people to participate in the hearing.
‘’According to the county government Act, invitation should be through posters, popular radio stations and if possible TV,’’ said the source.
Dan Orogo questioned why the meeting was taking place in a fifty seater tent whereas there were many people who could have wanted to attend the function.
The ward rep had a rough time answering questions as he kept on dodging the raised questions saying he was not supposed to answer such questions for they were meant to be answered by the MCA who was absent.
Asiko who is also the secretary of the Ward Development Fund was put on the spotlight for sleeping on his job as there were many talents in Kibera but the slums have no social hall to enable youth to perfect their talents.
He said the fund will only allocate the money for construction of social halls if the county releases money.
