Ranguma said he will keep his promise by rewarding the ward which he said has seen the county become number three among the best performing Counties during the just concluded mass voter listing exercise.

During the launch of the one month exercise, Ranguma had pledged to reward the ward which shall have registered the highest number of voters with Sh1 million.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday released the results of the exercise and Kisumu recorded 59,611 new voters after Nairobi and Kiambu.

Ranguma has said he is working on the a way to have the promise fulfilled and he will be able to present the money in two weeks.

"It is still unclear whether the money should be handed to the mobilisers, Ward administrators or individual voters," said Ranguma on Wednesday during an interview with the writer.

He added: "I am however, travelling out of the country and will be away next week, so by the time I come back the other week we shall have settled on how to go about it."

He said he will still continue to engage other relevant stakeholders so as to ensure that the over 60,000 residents who failed to register during the first phase of the exercise are registered through the continous voter registering process which takes place at the commission's Constituency offices.
