Striker Stephen Waruru has officially joined Kenya Premier League (KPL) giants Tusker FC, a few weeks after partying ways with Ulinzi Stars.

Waruru is among five players that have been signed by the Ruaraka based side.

Others are midfielder Apollo Otieno, defender Eric Ambunya, Kevin Okoth and Paul Muchika.

Soka.co.ke reports that their acquisition has been confirmed by Tusker FC interim coach Francis Baraza.

"So far we have signed five players. We have signed Paul Muchika from Muhoroni Youth, Stephen Waruru from Ulinzi Stars, Apollo Otieno from Chemelil Sugar, Kevin Okoth from Western Stima and Eric Ambunya from Kakamega Homeboyz. We are still in talks with our other targets and we hope to conclude more deals in the coming days," said the coach.

The 2016 KPL champions had an underwhelming performance in this year’s KPL season, finishing sixth on the log with 50 points, twenty four points behind leaders and champions Gor Mahia.

The brewers are set to conduct trials on Wednesday this week, in a bid to further strengthen their squad. The trials were to be conducted last week, before being postponed to this week.

“Tusker FC trials have been postponed to Wednesday, 20th December 2017, due to unavoidable circumstances. The event will kick off from 8am. Apologies for any inconvenience caused,” read a post on the club’s face book page announcing the postponement.

The trials will be held at the club’s training ground in Ruaraka, Nairobi.
