A section of lawmakers allied to Jubilee Party have now claimed that former IEBC commissioner Roseline Akombe was a NASA sympathizer.
Led by Limiru MP Peter Mwathi, the MPs accused Akombe of conspiring with the Opposition coalition to derail the forthcoming presidential repeat polls scheduled for October 26.
“NASA is determined to ensure the repeat presidential election does not take place...then commissioner Akombe suddenly resigns. Don’t you people think this is a strategy for NASA to win?” Mwathi posed.
He further called on investigation agencies including EACC to probe Akombe following her shock resignation on Wednesday.
Akombe fled to the US where she announced her resignation.
She claimed that a threat to her life had informed her decision to quit from IEBC.
She further accused the electoral agency of being partisan, doubting the commission's ability to conduct a free, fair and credible process during the upcoming polls.
