A group of women who hail from Kiogoro village, Kisii County have come together threatening to divorce their husbands if they watch any of the world cup matches.
The women led by their spokesperson Mary Kemunto claimed that they had suffered enough in the previous world cup matches because their husbands could disappear from home.
"Whenever their is a world cup, I rarely see my husband even the kids can forget who their father is. This time round if they decide to leave the houses just to go and watch the games, they will be in for it," she said.
She said that they had already started fearing because their husbands had already purchased attires in preparation to the world cup.
Elders in the village when contacted said that they always face challenges whenever their is World cup because most men disappear from home.
"They usually leave the houses together but return separately and after even couple of days, I think that is what the ladies are worried about," said James Okemwa, an elder.
The 2018 Russia World cup is set to kick off on Thursday 14.
