A watchman suspected of burglary was on Wednesday morning arraigned before a Kisumu Chief magistrate to answer to the charges.
Solomon Nyongesa however denied the charges before Kisumu chief magistrate Helen Olilo for the offence he is said to have committed on April 30, in Nyamasaria.
The prosecution told the court that the accused used to work as a guard at the River Plate apartments, when the incident occurred.
He is alleged to have broken into one of the houses together with two other people who were absent in court, and made away with property worth Sh100, 000.
Among the goods stolen included a television set, decoder, microwave and two mobile phones, during a daytime incident.
He was captured by surveillance cameras installed in the house, something made him the prime suspect.
Nyongesa is said to have sold the goods to an electronic shop operator based in Kisumu town before running away.
The goods were traced and recovered, while the search for Nyongesa started, and police working on a tip off from the public managed to arrest Nyongesa in his Nyamasaria house trying to take away a few of his belongings.
He was released on a cash bail of Sh10, 000 with surety of a similar amount pending hearing of the case on June 8.
