A watchman was on Wednesday morning found dead in eastleigh estate in Machakos town.
It is suspected that the unknown people attacked the man early in the morning cutting him into pieces before they escaped.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, Machakos town senior chief Joshua Kimeu said that the man used to be a guard at Buddies pub and Kasai building.
He said that nothing was stolen during the incident.
"It is unfortunate that an innocent person has been killed in cold blood.The action is questionable," Kimeu said.
Kimeu asked residents to help him and Machakos police officers in arresting suspects.
The body of the deceased was picked by police officers and taken to Machakos level five hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations kick off.
