Water firm decries increased water theft

Mombasa Water and Sewerage Company has decried increased water theft in the County.

According to Mombasa West manage David Munguti, locals have been connecting water to their houses illegally. 

“Locals have been connecting water to their homes illegally and this has costs the firm millions of shillings every year,” he said.

He said the firm has disconnected water connected illegally in Changamwe and Jomvu constituencies. 

“We are still making efforts to disconnect other areas that have been connected water illegally to reduce the company’s yearly costs,"he stated.

Munguti urged members of the public to report those helping locals to steal water for a legal action to be taken.

He was speaking in Jomvu constituency on Friday evening.
