The work of giving the people of Machakos piped and clean water to all households is now in full gear confirms Machakos County governor Alfred Mutua.
This comes after the Water Mapping and Household Development Survey Program project was overwhelmingly responded by the residents where more than 200,000 household will benefit.
Mutua who was speaking on Wednesday in Machakos town during the press conference extended his gratitude for the people of Machakos for embracing the idea which he believes will improve the economic status of the county.
The mapping which was conducted in every village in all eight sub counties is set to issue every household with water pipes and meters and the survey will be analyzed by the specialist and the results be released in a month time according to the governor.
He said that during the survey, he has received feedback that the people of Machakos and Ukambani want water, roads, good healthcare, schools, jobs and real development not empty politics.
Mutua pledged to deliver the county from poverty and the it will start by every family to have water sources from their homestead which he believes it will be a dream come true.
He said that Machakos residents do not have the patience or time for political games based on insults, criticism, brinkmanship and narrow-minded chest thumping thus he will fulfill the dreams he set during his campaign period.
“I urge all my fellow leaders that we talk up our people and development and not perpetuate poverty by engaging in politics of poverty,” said Mutua
