Speaking to the residents yesterday, the minister confirming that he is aware of the issue adding that the county has enough water in its storage facilities but the problem has been caused by locking of the pipes distributing water to Njoro.

“There is a problem with accessing the blocked pipes because residents have built houses on the pipes and this is making it difficult to repair the blocked pipes,” said Rop.

Rop was reacting to accusation levelled against the county government by the residents who complained of neglect and inability by the government to provide them with water.

The Minister cautioned the residents against unblock the pipes on their own as it is against the county rules adding that the ministry in charge of water is carrying out a survey to determine the extent of the work and the resources to be set aside.

“I urge the residents to be patient as we sort out the problem,” said Rop.

Njoro residents had taken a decision to repair the pipes if the county government delays the process.
