The taps in the area have run dry again! For three days now they have been forced to either buy water from vendors at very exorbitant prices or turn to Mto Mawe.

The pipe from the main supply in the area broke on Friday evening, cutting supply in the area.

While the hitch has been fixed and the water that was going to waste, pouring on the ground is back in the pipes, there is still no water in the taps and residents of Kinanie, who have been patient, are now getting tired of this water problem!

Many have since resorted to fetching the brown water from Mto Mawe. Today, hundreds of secondary school students were seen fetching water from the seasonal river.

Kinanie is a fast growing trading centre located approximately 7 km from Athi River town.

A place that was covered with sisal and shrubs a few years back is now boasting of more than six secondary schools, commercial flower farms, fruit farms, churches, hospitals, bars and restaurant as well as a children's home.
