Water shortage has hit Machakos town once again despite heavy rains being experienced all over the country resulting to deaths and damage of property.
According to residents who have experienced the crisis for the last one week, they buy 20litres of water at Sh20.
They said that they presented their petition to Machakos county ministry of water so that the matter can be looked into but nothing has been done.
In an interview with one of the residents on May 18, she said that the county government of Machakos has neglected them despite being town residents.
"Despite the county government saying that developments have been done in Machakos town and its outskirts, for us Kariobangi slum residents it's a lie. We are seriously suffering from water crisis during rainy season and still waiting to undergo the same during the dry season," said Pauline Munyithya.
They said that come 2017 they will gauge one depending on what they've done as far as developments are concerned to common mwananchi.
