Kibera is well known for its large population of people residing in the slum.

Nairobi Water Company has been accused of disconnecting water in the slums leaving residents to suffer.

One resident, Evans Kombo said that he is not able to wash his clothes since there is no water. The only 20-litre jerrycan he has is almost done and he does not know what he will do after.

"The lack of water in the slums has led to many people going for several days without bathing. Women with small children who need to be washed have suffered the most. Officers responsible for water supply in the slums should look into the matter," he noted.

"Does it mean when visitors come to the country, residents should also get water disconnection? I understand that roads have been closed down since the Israeli prime minister landed in the country," stated Milly Omondi, a resident.

“We should not be rationed with water as if we do not pay the bills. Water is essential for life. The county government and national government should help us get plenty of water for use," said Margaret Mugambi.
