The acute water shortage problems in Rarieda sub-county in Siaya County has left residents of the area an angry and bitter lot.
Led by a politician of the area, Netto Adhola, residents have threatened to storm into the offices of the county government and paralyse operations until something is done to curb the problem.
In order for residents to get water, they have to walk long distances which they say is unfair as they pay all their water bills and do not understand why they have to undergo such suffering to get the commodity.
The residents’ anger is also channelled towards the leaders in the area who they have faulted of not doing anything to help with the situation.
They are now worried that they might get contaminated with waterborne diseases and worst of all, they do not know how they will be able to protect them from such.
