Adan Duale has sensationally claimed that former Devolution Minister Ann Waiguru was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta despite contrary information available in the public.
Waiguru, a powerful minister in her time, resigned from duty over ‘health’ related issue at the peak of National Youth Service scandal in which billions of taxpayers’ money was reportedly lost.
But in an interview with KTN news on Thursday, the National Assembly Majority Leader said Waiguru was sacked contrary to her initial claims.
“There are many ways the government can handle issues and sometimes the public doesn’t have to know,” said the Garissa Town MP.
Mr. Duale, a chief critic of opposition added: “The president can order you to resign, step aside or even sack you. She was shown an exit door.”
The NYS scam has been ranked as one of the worst scandal under Kenyatta’s regime and an estimated Sh1.6b was reportedly stolen.
However, despite his initial defense on Waiguru, Duale launched vicious attacks against her after she sensationally linked him to the NYS scandal.
