Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti has warned the NASA fraternity against underrating the Kamba community.
Speaking when she was received in Wiper Democratic Movement party, Wavinya said it is the right time for Kalonzo to be given what rightfully belongs to him. The new lioness of Kamba land was echoing sentiments by parliament minority leader Francis Nyenze.
Local leaders are demanding that Kalonzo be given the flag bearer in opposition as per the MoU signed between Wiper and ODM in 2013.
"We have about 2.5 M votes in this country. As a community we can not be underrated," said Ndeti.
This comes after Nyenze's seven-day ultimatum expires without NASA yielding to his demands. The legislature also took time to remind opposition and especially ODM to honor their agreement on the last day of the deadline.
"We don't have to keep meeting and even if we meet 100 times, we will not agree until the MoU is honored. If they say it is dead, then we also suspect the change of name from CORD which we all loved was to stop the Kamba clamor and asking for flag bearer position. Because of that demand, whenever we are set to meet, the meeting is postponed," said Nyenze in a past demand for a Kalonzo candidature.
