Machakos gubernatorial hopeful on a Wiper ticket Wavinya Ndeti has come out to explain why she will not accept election results.
By press time, Wavinya was trailing incumbent Alfred Mutua. Mutua had 237,786 votes (53.24 per cent) and Ndeti 198,883 (44.53 per cent).
This was the tally for 1,271 out of 1,332 polling stations. The county has 620, 254 registered voters and recorded 446,651 valid ballots.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Ndeti said that she did not understand where the results came from.
"We do not know where they are getting the results from and this is causing a lot of anxiety. We are not accepting the results," Ndeti
"People just do things the way they want to do them...Mutua is used to stealing...even last time he stole [sic]."
The Wiper candidate added they have written a letter to IEBC on their rejection.
"I think there are some Kenyans who discuss how to keep on stealing all the time.".
