Former Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) leader Wavinya Ndeti has said that she is not happy with Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s move to ask her to take part in the political outfit’s nominations ahead of August general polls.
According to the former Kathiani MP, Kalonzo could have given her a direct ticket to battle it out with incumbent Governor Dr Alfred Mutua than take her through the rigorous nominations.
The aspirant also said that she will suffer double losses in the event that she is floored during the nominations since she is not guaranteed a win.
She asked Kalonzo to direct the party’s National Executive Council to give her a direct nomination for area’s gubernatorial to create time for her to campaign for the seat.
“It is unfair to expose me to nominations because in the event I lose, I will have lost twice,” she told her supporters in Mlolongo and Athi River in Mavoko sub-county on Sunday.
She also said that she was forced to walk away from her party for the sake of Kalonzo, adding that she expects the same from his side before August polls.
“Many people wanted us to unite with Kalonzo. I sacrificed my party as its head to join Wiper because of you,” she said.
EALA MP Peter Mathuki has insisted that the political outfit will not conduct primaries as planned earlier on.
“We will fight for Machakos on August 8. Those who want to go to nominations should go it alone,” Mathuki said.
