[Photo|Wavinya Ndeti]Former Assistant Minister, and Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti, has expressed disappointment, after the University of Nairobi (UoN), Senate closed down the institution, indefinitely."The University of Nairobi Senate has closed the University with immediate effect due to the deteriorating security situation. Students have been asked to vacate the halls of residence with immediate effect but not later than 9.00am," the school administration, said, Tuesday morning. The move angered Ndeti, who unsuccessfully vied for the Machakos gubernatorial post, and further asked the school administration to take full responsibility. Here is what Ndeti said."As a mother and a parent, I feel sad seeing innocent young students from The University of Nairobi walking home less than a month after they opened for the September - December Semester, the University administration should take full responsibility to ensure a conducive learning environment. Parents invest a lot just to ensure that their children succeed in their studies. Closing an institution of higher learning is discouraging."
