Former Chama Cha Uzalendo leader Wavinya Ndeti has downplayed allegations that National Super Alliance (NASA) gave the Kamba community a raw deal, adding that Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga and Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka combination will deliver the seat to the opposition.
Ndeti, who spoke on Saturday at the Mavoko Stadium, challenged leaders who were opposing the NASA lineup, arguing that they had time to push for Kalonzo’s candidature but they failed.
“Why didn’t they lobby for Kalonzo to become NASA’s flagbearer? Let’s keep our votes behind Raila and Kalonzo,” Ndeti, who trounced Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala during Wiper nominations told NASA supporters, as quoted by Star.
Ndeti, former MP Kathiani, called upon the residents of this part of the nation to back the former prime minister to ascend to power, adding that he will only lead for five years then pave way for Kalonzo.
“We should all support the Raila-Kalonzo arrangement. The ODM leader will serve for only five years, then Kalonzo takes over,” she said.
The legislator also insisted that she has no intentions to walk away from Kalonzo ahead of the forthcoming general polls as speculated by some of her critics.
“I’ll not part ways with Kalonzo. I’ll stick with him and support his political ideologies until NASA forms the next government,” she added.
